Keeping it Real with Reel Babies

Movies.

If you know our family, you know that most of our life consists of watching (and making) movies.

Going to the theatre used to be something that Matt and I regularly enjoyed doing with each other. We could just pick up and go at the spur of the moment.

Now with the little man, getting out to see a movie seems to happen once in a blue moon.

This is why I was SO excited to discover Reel Babies at Empire Theatres.  Reel Babies gives parents  the opportunity to go to a "grown-up movie", during the day and bring the bambinos along with you! The lights are dimmed, the sound is lowered and it is completely baby friendly.

My friend Anneliese Schwartz invited me out a few weeks ago to watch Safe Haven with her and a friend. When I walked in to the theatre, I was amazed.

There, right in the front aisle, were swings, exersaucers, play mats, a change table AND a Diaper Genie. Plus, the change table was fully equipped with diapers and wipes, in the odd chance that you run out!

The movie was great, but the real fun was being able to enjoy a movie IN a theatre, with the little man chilling in the Exersaucer and having a little bit of "me" time. It was also kind of neat because, even if your little one starts to cry, no one cares because we've all been there. It's a stress free zone and it's just lovely.

Reel Babies takes place once a month at Empire Theatres, and the movie is voted for every month by the moms who are going to see it.

I also got an extremely exciting email this past week, when it was revealed that Reel Babies is being moved to Tuesdays. Now we can take part in the Reel Deal Tuesdays! Yay to savings!
